In round five of the NRL several teams are likely to shake-up their squads after poor performances and shock losses last week.
According to early mail, Wests Tigers club legend Benji Marshall has been sensationally dropped for this week's clash against the Canberra Raiders, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.
Coach Michael Maguire's call to dump Marshall is reportedly one of up to six changes to the side that suffered a last-gasp defeat to the Titans, which ended a year-long losing streak for the luckless Gold Coast club.
Following the loss, when asked by media if the Tigers were complacent, Maguire said: "Maybe the result shows that doesn't it?"
"I am sick and tired of the ups and downs of our performances. We need to change that," he said.
"It's unacceptable, that performance."
This season was widely tipped to be Marshall's last in the NRL but the aging five-eighth has not been in below-par form. The news presents an excellent opportunity for Josh Reynolds who has been left out of the squad in the last two rounds.
Final team lists for round 5 to be announced later this afternoon.
